Finally, we got around to decorating for Halloween and you know we're going all out. After all, we may have bought 37 pumpkins this year! Also, hope you enjoy the "Todd Variety Hour" mid-way through.
Our latest vlog takes place during the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. While we were safe, many of our family and friends in the path were not. We provided a few resources in the description below our video on YouTube if you are able to donate to recovery efforts.
We opted to DIY install a second door (after the glamorous install of the first door last time). This one went better, sorta. Plus we installed new copper lights on the porch and tested out a few more exterior paint colors. Enjoy!
Finally, we installed the glass side door! Despite the 8 attempts and enduring yet another thunderstorm, we finally got it into place. Along with a fresh coat of paint, and new lights on either side, it's safe to say the exterior is starting to take shape.
It's a day in the life this weekend. Due to some frustrating weather woes, we had to delay the door(s) install for another day. But, we still made due with some upstairs updating and a little impromptu outside tour of projects to come. Stay tuned for more updates as we round out summer and head into fall (and we cannot wait!).
Join us on a dual landscaping adventure! We're transforming a blank canvas into a charming backyard oasis at Rob's family farm in South Carolina. And then we're back at the mountain house to add a few trees to our landscaping. Quite the busy weekend, but wouldn't have it any other way.
What a trip! We finally took a much-needed vacation from the projects and headed out west to one of our favorite states, Colorado. From dining away in Denver, to breweries in Breckenridge, to million dollar views in Ouray, to enjoying the echoes of music in Telluride at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, we documented it all.
Well, this was a fun weekend. As the title says, from chainsaws to rainbows plus a little of everything in between. And our first pride flag at our cabin looks pretty awesome to see. Makes us proud to know we can wave that from our porch. Hope you all have a great weekend and happy pride! -T&R
Despite another weekend of storms, we finally completed the landscaping upgrades above the retaining wall. We've been on a quest to replant different types of ferns so that over the years, they will expand and fill in what was a blank canvas of dirt. Throw in more black metal edging, amend with top soil, perennials, annuals, top with mulch, and this space has surely changed for the better!
